"When I think about #HowtoDad, I look at my relationship with my own children, and I look at the relationship I have with my own father, and his relationship with his father. What I realize is that what makes a good dad good is whether he is painting a picture in his words and actions of who our Heavenly Father is. Sure there are times when the disciplinarian in us needs to come out. Sure there are times when consequences need to be followed through on so that children can learn, but what children will remember most is that dad was compassionate, slow to anger, was the rock that I knew that I could always come to and I knew that I would be loved and accepted regardless of what I’d done. It’s about reconciliation. It’s about teaching and correcting with compassion. It’s about giving grace as we have been given the ultimate grace by our God through His Son Jesus."
