Stewardship

STEWARDSHIP

CLICK HERE to download the August 2020 LC-MS Stewardship Newsletter

Stewardship is typically thought of as budgets, campaigns, and annual pledges, but it is so much more. It has to do with our time, talent, treasure, and testimony (our self-witness and evidence that the Lord has worked in our lives, setting us apart for His service).  It is how we use and manage these resources, which are totally in our control.

Stewardship is about exercising our God-given dominion over His creation, reflecting the image of our creator God in His care, responsibility, maintenance, protection, and beautification of His creation.  It is about using all that God has entrusted to us according to our vocation (calling) that He has placed us in.

A Christian steward is a child of God who realizes their role in life is a trustee of gifts that belong to God.  We are not the owners but have been entrusted with resources and the care of everything—Creation, gifts and talents, money, time, the gospel, and the culture and values in our society around us—for the sake of God's purposes in the world.

As we move through the year, I ask that you assess your calling and how you can best use your resources to help manage everything to God’s glory.  We are a generous congregation and there are so many opportunities where everyone can find a place to faithfully and happily serve God.  We currently need help with evangelism and Sunday morning activities (sound board, screen, etc).  Prayerfully ask God to lead you to your stewardship calling.
