Our 21^st preschool graduation class is now ready for Kindergarten.  It is a joy and privilege to have influenced  the development of each of these precious children.  We are humbled by the encouraging words and numerous expressions of appreciation from parents and grandparents.  This year’s graduates will be attending six different schools for Kindergarten.  Every year teachers tell us how glad they are to receive children from Community Lutheran Preschool.  They know that our students enter their classes well-prepared for success, having mastered the basic social and academic skills.

Graduation began as weekly chapel does, with a child helping to light the candle “in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”  Taylor Serna had the honor of lighting the candle, since she has been at our school the longest, starting as soon as she was two years old.  Kristen Beyer presented an important and inspiring graduation message about listening to and recognizing voices.  The children recognize the voices of people they know, even when they don’t see them.  Sheep recognize the voice of their shepherd, and we all need to recognize and follow the voice of God through His Word, the Bible.  Each graduate was given a Children’s Bible, personalized from the child’s prayer partner.

The spiritual development of our preschoolers is extremely important.  Parents tell us that the children eagerly sing about Jesus and insist that their families pray before meals.  One of our preschool mothers told of how when shopping in Big Lots her son proclaimed loudly, “Jesus died on the cross!”  Other customers were looking at them as she explained that he goes to a Lutheran Preschool and told them how she loves that he says these things.
