Good morning my name is Emily Dianne Jaramillo. I have been coming to church all my life . I've been involved in many different ministries since I can remember. I started preschool here at age two, and then the children's choir at age 4. At age 6 I started the drama ministry , and am now in Young ladies ensembles. On October 13, 2002 I was baptized by pastor Vogelsang in what is now Keturkat Hall. Through this baptism I have been washed of my sins and connected to Christ. The Christian faith has been something very important to me and,up until a couple years ago,all I knew was that Jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins, but I didn't realized what meant to me . Some people that helped me understand the Bible more where my confirmation teachers Kristen and Joel Beyer, as well as Jim Meyer . With their help I was able to realize what being a Christian or more like the Lutheran really meant in our society. To me to me the cross of Jesus means that my burdens and since sins are no longer on my shoulders but are wiped away , and forgotten after I do them . To me the cross of Jesus also means that he was the perfect lamb and the only one who go to the cross. One verse that really helps me remember this is (Romans 6:23). This verse states "for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord." Although there are many positives about being Christian there also is some hardships. Some of these difficulties include having God be your number one priority in life, which for me as a child meant no playing sports if they had practices or games on Sunday's. And the positives are pretty obvious, because being a Christian means going to heaven and having the privilege of prayer. Something I really like about being a Christian/Lutheren is knowing that I don't have to worry about completing a certain amount tasks so I go to heaven or being stress out about being perfect all the time. I just have to simply believe. As it says in Romans ,"By grace you have been saved through faith, it is a gift from God." This past year I have discovered that I have been gifted with music as my style of evangelism. Up until the seventh grade when I had my first communion I had never really realized what communion meant , but now I see that to me it means that Jesus died on the cross, to forgive all my sins; and that communion is like my weekly reminder of him and what he did for me ,for as the Bible says, "Do this in remembrance of me", and that is exactly what we do every Sunday morning. As the future comes closer and closer I see myself in 5 to 10 years as being either a cosmetologist or a special-effects make up artist . But as ( Jeremiah 29:11) states," For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope". Because I know it can be difficult to stay connected to Christian church after confirmation ,and as you move on with your life , I have decided to stay connected to the church , by sharing my artistic talent and gifts with others, as well as sharing my beliefs and faith with my coworkers if they're not already religious, and with and with my clients as well. I would like to thank my mother my grandma my preschool teachers , and my confirmation teachers for helping me constantly through my spiritual walk, may it be driving me to junior high activities and confirmation, or teaching me about the Christian faith, they all helped me get to where I am now.
